Energy production, weapons, handling fluids and much more - excellent graphics.

V15 compatibility?

Post by Daedalus » Tue Apr 25, 2017 4:04 pm

I'm a huge fan of this mod(pack), and want to jump into Factorio v15, but I don't want to really get into it without Yuoki...

Any ideas when it will be updated to be compatible with 15?

I work on it, atm the mods load all fine without errors but after a small walk the game crash.

It's more work as thinked. I need to fix some uncommented lua-entity-changes. Todo this i need again to reverse-engineer the original lua-files.
It's hard to predict a time for new YI-versions because i don't know what else is changed.
So i see a lot of crashs until the game will work with the mod again.

Ah, good luck with everything! I would think the devs would have released that information to mod developers.

If you need anyone to help out with testing or anything, let me know.

Thanks for all of your work on this great mod :)

All Updated to 0.15 - but power-system is a "little" broken.

WHOOHOOO!!!!

Thanks!

Do you happen to have details on what to look out for vs power? I kind of exclusively use Yuoki power, because it rocks ;)

I had not time to go deeper into the new power-system.
The generator-entity accepts only one fluid (looks to me and tested)

All generators i have switched to MF ... they don't accept water/steam.

a "good" solution is to use a SFE, FFE or Quantrinum-Reactor to produced heated MF and connect to any generator (not turbines) - in the description i had added "MF only ! -". New vanilla power makes most "old" turbines and boilers useless.
It's not nessesary and useless to heat MF (no more benefit to see [the vanilla-boiler-mechanic looks broken to me, but is now standard]) - also every boiler blocks/interrupt the fluid-flow.

don't chain boilers, it's also useless and don't work good.

at weekend i will take a closer look and tune some values.

If you encounter some problems after the update - like a nice game crash. And some savegames are not affected, others are.

1.) Use Factorio 0.14 to save these ;)
2.) remove all mods that add no important items/entitys, like YARM, test-mode or other coded mods or mods you don't use very often
3.) load every savegame in 0.14 and save it again, so it has the last 0.14.22(23) stamp and is free from some mods and all is white.
4.) copy the savegames into 0.15 and load all (if mod-list white) once and save again.

Good Luck !
I had saved 5 savegames with over 400 hours gameplay with this method. Some problems like inventory full and items laying on ground can happen, but this is nothing against loosing a 100+ hour game.
