What did you do?
Launch a rocket
What happened?
The rocket of the rocket launch animation is splitted up in four parts.
Lets call this parts from the head of the rocket: A-B-A-B part (last B including engine) .
The differences are:
- the A parts hide Alt-Mode items partially. See picture and video attached what I mean.
- the B parts hide Alt-Mode items fully.
- the brightness of the parts variate. Sometimes, the A part seems to be brighter, the B part darker. Sometimes the brightness is the same everywhere.
There is also a strong jump in the brightness of the rocket silo after the rocket leaved. See second 13 of the attached video.
What did you expect to happen instead? It might be obvious to you, but do it anyway!
The rocket should be displayed consistently.
Alt-Mode items are currently cut so they are over the launch animation sometimes partially, sometimes not visible. They should be visible entirely or not at all over the whole animation.
No jumps in the brightness of the launched rocket at few lines.
No jumps in the brightness of the rocket silo over the time.
Does it happen always, once, or sometimes?
Different rocket parts hide Alt-Mode items differently:
Always
Different rocket parts appear in different brightnesses:
I had previously (also in 2.0.21) where this happened on all consequent rocket launches, so I noted on my todo list.
Currently I neither could reproduce nor found a savefile from which is reproducible.
I am now thinking of things like cloud positions reflected wrongly on the rocket, some night vision logic, etc. what I did not test yet.
Rocket silo jumps in brightness:
Always.

Re: [2.0.21] Overlay parts in front of rocket on launch
Now I watched a few day cycles long rocket launches, the brightness change line is mostly there, but often not really visible.
I was wrong about it the first time when I thought it would be related to the rocket segment, the line is always at the same place, not moving with the rocket - so it might be a different bug. If better so, I can move it to a new post.
---
In my newest test, about 25% of the rocket launches had the line of brightness change visible to me.
At daytime, it is a bit but not clearly visible.
At night not really visible.
When changing from day to night is observable the most.
Sharp differences in the brightness are rare, I had it today few times but only before I recorded the video,
so the video attached shows usual impact.
Look in the height of the chests two tiles above the rocket silo.
