I didn't find this report on the forum:

In the early game when I have few items I sometimes pick an item with Q when I don't have the item in EQ. Mining nearby items with ghost cursor of that entity doesn't update the cursor, disallowing placing the building.

Reproduction:
1. Place an electric pole on the map.
2. Make sure you have 0 electric poles in EQ
3. Pipette the electric pole with Q, you will enter ghost cursor
4. Mine the placed electric pole with RMB
5. notice that the cursor count doesn't update to 1 from ghost, you need to quit with Q and pick up the pole from EQ again

The count updates properly from 1 to 2 if you already had the item in EQ. It just doesn't transition from ghost -> 1, making immediately placing mined entity impossible.
