When downgrading a level 2 or 3 assembler by placing a ghost assembler 1 on it (either remote view or holding shift) the recipe is always cleared when a construction bot does the swap.
I would expect the recipe to be kept as long as it is valid in a level 1 assembler, which is what happens when you downgrade with a real item rather than a ghost.
This doesn't apply to blueprints because the higher level assembler is "in the way".

This is really suspicious because downgrading AM2 to AM1 using upgrade planner works fine, it is just placement of AM1 ghost over AM2 which causes existing entity to be marked to be deconstructed and AM1 ghost to be placed.

I forgot the upgrade planner could downgrade, but yes that's working as expected for me. Only single entity ghost replace is doing this.

Is it a recipe with a fluid, that can't be made in an AM1?
