I'd like a simple visual indicator of which block a rail segment belongs to.
Firstly I feel that it could be helpful in debugging some of the interesting bugs regarding blinking signals.
Secondly it would be a useful tool for the player with helping to answer two pretty common questions when designing rail systems:
1. Why is that signal blinking?
2. Why is that signal red? There is no train that is even remotely close to there?!?!?!??
But it also gives the player a quick way to see if intersections are sufficiently signalled.
Thoughts? Mod suggestions?

Re: Debug option: show_rail_blocks
That is not only requested as debug option, but in game as "information layer". But I didn't found approbate threads yet (difficulty search).
AFAIK till 0.13 there where for example arrows drawed, which helped to realize the segment borders.

Cool suggestion: Eatable MOUSE-pointers.

Re: Debug option: show_rail_blocks
Yes! This would be immensely useful. Debugging train signals is a pain in the neck at the moment. Being able to see a coloured line down the track marking where different blocks end as the rail equivalent of machines showing what they make would be a huge help.
