[Enhancement] Upgrade planner and automatic upgrades

It would be useful to have an upgrade planner blueprint that works similar to the mod with the same name where whatever you select will be upgraded (factories, belts, inserters etc).

As an extension to this, it would be great if you could enable upgrade mode on your logistics network and whenever you have reached your limit on any type of item (eg. blue belt), the construction robots will look if you have any belts that are slower and deconstruct one and replace it with the blue belt. This way it would make upgrading large factories a lot easier without draining your resources because it would only do it if enabled and if you have already reached your logistics limit that you set for that good.

This would be great for upgrading factories, belts, splitters, underground belts etc.

Yes please! By far the most tedious part of the game right now is upgrading thousands of belts from Mk1 to Mk2 (and I assume to Mk3, but I haven't built any of those yet).

I haven't tried the mod mentioned in the original post yet, but I will. In the meantime, here's my thoughts on how an Upgrade Planner would work:

Craft an upgrade planner, right-click it and pick the items you want it to upgrade and what to (essentially a filter), save the choice, then go and mark out the area to upgrade. The construction robots will rip up the old versions, then replace them with the selected upgrades as they become available in the same orientations and connections as the old ones.

Definitely +1. Will be using the mod that does this as soon as I've completed my vanilla run.
