I looked for 30 minutes around the forums, searching, also tried Google, and can't find anything about this.
When in the Science Tree, looking at list of technologies, and choosing Rocket Silo. If you follow that plan, you will never get the Rocket Silo.
It needs Purple Science (Production science pack) in order to research it, but Purple science is not included in the tree for Rocket Silo.... Should it not be after Advanced electronics, before the modules?
Meaning Advanced material processing 2 is missing in the Rocket Silo Tree.?
Hope I'm not double posting this issue.
(EDIT)
Just looked at a bunch of other research requiring purple and yellow science, and no where in the tree do you need to research these things in order to research the things that require said sciences.... but red, green and blue are all in the research tree for said items... It is like as if after the science pack change research did not get updated.
Notice that all the new research after science packs got changed are missing theses in their tree....
I notice so many research are missing something or another..... Like advanced oil processing.... when you click that you only need (Steel -> Oil Processing -> Advanced oil processing -> Coal liquefaction), while if you click Oil Processing, it requires a bunch of stuff... and as you click about you still see what leads where etc etc.....
Is this something that has not got around to yet, or is it suppose to be like this?
In my chase for "There is no spoon" achievement, I've just followed the research tree for Rocket Silo... and every run I stress cause I can't figure out why I can't research rocket silo even though I've researched everything in its tree....
I'm seeing this could cause head aches for newer players.
Also Rocket Silo requires concrete to build... but that also isn't in its research tree....
And if you choose Plastics, it shows a long tree of what research this will open up for, and Automation, Electronics, Automation 2, Logistics 1-2..... almost every research that requires Red, Green, Blue and Black science show where this can lead you in the tree and where it came from....

Re: [15.26] Rocket Silo Science Tree missing purple science
Thanks for the report,
However nothing you've mentioned i would consider a bug,
The science progression is branching after blue, so just because a technology requires a high tech pack, does not mean it should require a purple pack
The other missing requirements are for simplification
We have some plan to have another look at the new science and progression,
So i will move this to ideas and suggestions for everyone to discuss

Re: Rocket Silo Science Tree missing purple science
Thank you.
I was unsure where to post it.
I sort off felt that the Tech Tree when studying it closer was more like going from A <-> B <-> C -> X, again thinking about never players, it does not really say what is happening between C -> X, nor that you actually need many of the research that are in between there. (Like how the Rocket Silo requires concrete to even be built, but it is not a prerequisite to research it, before researching Rocket Silo) In my mind it makes logical sense to research everything something needs to get built. Does that make sense? (Want to point out that Nuclear Power has concrete as its prerequisite)
One thing I really like is how when you move between some of the early research: for example if you have Automation highlighted, and click Electronics, you are still on the same Tech Tree, but the highlight moved. Personally I think the entire Tech Tree should be interconnected like this, but it does not have to show EVERYTHING all the time... maybe as you moved downwards along the tree, early stages would disappear, just like further research is now "hidden" with an arrow pointing downwards showing it leads to more research.
While on the subject of the Tech Tree.... could it be possible to make it perform like a web browser, or file explorer.... The ability to move back and forth (mostly back) by using the mouse buttons for moving back/forth.

Re: Rocket Silo Science Tree missing purple science
The tech tree is already so incredibly convoluted, I'm impressed you even noticed this.
Regarding your concern about new players being confused, I'd say that probably the majority of new players are overwhelmed by the sheer number of techs and can't mentally track the order of things whatsoever. Just eyeing the pretty pictures to find ones that have the bottles they can make, and making it.

Technologies that require purple science to research do NOT require researching the technology to unlock the purple science pack.
That's what he is pointing out.

Re: Rocket Silo Science Tree missing purple science
Thank you bobbingabout, that is excatly what I was trying to get to in my report.
But it is not just purple science, yellow as well.
I am studying the research closely to come up with a possible fix, with minor adjustments and some extra connections.

Re: Rocket Silo Science Tree missing purple science
I don't think the problem is that researching the science pack isn't required to make researches which use that science pack available, but that it isn't really obvious how to get that science pack. If researching the science pack was a prerequisite to each research that required that pack, the tech tree would be extremely cluttered. Perhaps some warning on the researches (next to the science packs either on the icon or when you open the research, or perhaps just by changing the color of the research to orange or something) would be more helpful.
