Have a mode that takes the whole player out of it and lets it just be a building game. It should be optional, of course, but I don't enjoy having to be within a certain distance of something to be able to interact with it. I would love to just build uninhibited. It would still be challenging. But as my factory gets more and more complex, I know I'm gonna have to consider pathways and walkways which I'm sure is going to inhibit some brilliant design (unless I build from inside out and plan it all out on graph paper lol!).
Another option would be to just make building and interacting possible without having to be in the direct vicinity of the object.
Again, folks, I can't say how much I love this game. I even think about it as I'm falling asleep!

Re: "Playerless" mode
You mean like the sandbox mode?
Main menu: Play > Custom Scenario > base/sandbox
Main menu: Play > Custom Scenario > base/sandbox
Better forum search for modders: Enclose your search term in quotes, eg. "font_color" or "custom-input" - it prevents the forum search from splitting on hypens and underscores, resulting in much more accurate results.

You can also use the following command:
to detach from the mortal body in already running game.
Code: Select all
/c game.player.character=nil
I do mods. Modding wiki is friend, it teaches how to mod. Api docs is friend too...
I also update mods, some of them even work.
Recently I did a mod tutorial.
