Collector Capsules/Robots: pick up objects on the ground.

Currently it is rather fiddly to run around picking up the alien artifacts after destroying a nest. On the principle that any fiddly job should be automatable ;) how about a type of capsule (or robot) which picks them up for you? A capsule is better than a robot, since is avoids the need to place and power a roboport far from home.

Don't know if this will ever be implemented, but here are a few ways to reduce this problem:
  • There's mod with a mobile roboport in the player. Don't know if it is still maintained, through.
  • You can move them pick up key to something else. Walking with WASD and collecting with F is not easy, because the index finger has to do D and F at the same time. If you have a mouse with addition keys, try one of them.

How about a modular armour component that increases your pickup range?
