Multiplayer mode for New Player Experience

TL;DR
Multiplayer mode for New Player Experience/tutorial.
Campaign > Introduction > Arrival, etc
What ?
I started the Arrival scenario/campaign/New Player Experience, and immediately saved it, then tried hosting it as a multiplayer save, but it crashes after almost after step in the tutorial/etc.
Why ?
Because playing with friends is better. Also, I'm hoping for it to be an opportunity for me to introduces my niblings and/or wife to the game. I think that being able to play the NPE as a group would be fun.

I tried posting viewtopic.php?f=23&t=66992 under bugs, but it was moved to “Not a bug” without any hints as to where it *should* be. I'm hoping this is the correct place or maybe under "Maps and Scenarios", or maybe "Campaign / Scenario suggestions", if it should be somewhere else, could I please get some feedback as to where this post should go? Thanks!!!

Looks like, at a bare minimum, there needs to be a way to tag scenarios as supporting multiplayer/single player and the NPE needs to get tagged as single player only if it's not going to support multiplayer. Servers should then give a warning in startup that the scenario isn't tagged as supporting multiplayer and may crash.

I'd say that campaign was never intended to be multiplayer, which does make sense.
Most games I know that have a campaign and a freeplay mode are single player for the campaign, unless maybe those that have a campaign specifically crafted to be played in multi. I really don't think this is a majority though.

It wouldn't be surprising (or honestly problematic) if the NPE was single player only. However, the server should really handle it in a more graceful fashion. It should really make a log entry at the beginning something to the effect of 'This scenario is not marked as compatible with multiplayer. If you continue there is no guarantee that the scenario will be able to run. Continue? (Y/N)'. Still give server operators an option to give it a shot, but a warning ahead of time that this will likely not work.
