"Cancel" on research sounds like the progress will be lost

TL;DR

What ?

The "Cancel" button might be better labeled "Pause".

Why ?

New players will be afraid of selecting "Cancel" on research after having spend a ton of science packs to partially research something. The button doesn't imply that the progress so far will be saved till the research is continued later. "Pause" implies more that the invested science packs will not be in vain.

This is totally how I feel about "cancel" on research, and I'm not only surprised to hear the research would be saved, I don't actually believe it and will have to check for myself.

It is (like in 0.16), but I checked like three times during my ongoing tutorial game because I still felt worried about it for some reason... "Cancel" might be why ?

That's a potential fix for the late-campaign biter swarms: pause research so they at least stop getting worse while you beef up base defence.

I felt the same way when I saw the Cancel button too. Yet, Pause wouldn't seem like you could change it to something else. Personally, I think getting rid of the button all together makes more sense. Then if someone wants to research something else instead, they would switch and click research.

That's how it was in 0.16 and I was just as paranoid about it. Pause is much, much better. Even the Cancel is better, once you know the secret that it doesn't throw away your research.

Pause is when you want to stop researching, e.g. because you need all your iron ore to make bullets to fight of an alien mega swarm.

"Pause" or "Postpone" would be much better that "Cancel".
