Stuff to launch into space

I think it would be cool to launch other types of satellites into space. The satellites are only used for winning the game (Although that's being changed https://www.factorio.com/blog/post/fff-275) and getting space packs, but I think it would be cool if there were many versions of the satellite with different purposes.

Some ideas include:
A separate satellite for space packs
Something similar to radar for a select area
A limited number of missiles rained down from the sky, expensive but very VERY fun to use


Any other ideas?

A very expensive satellite that gives you continuous science packs. Could end up being too OP, maybe have it degrade without (relatively cheaper) resupply launches.
Trading satellite, lets you sell (and buy?) supplies on the Galactic Network.
Power satellite, that beams down power to a base station. Needs resupplies or it may misfire. Yes, I played Sim City 2000 why do you ask? :D

I think this mod does exactly that :

You can launch insanely expensive things that then gives huge resource (and other) bonusses depending on what you launch.
EG. launch a solar sattelite , that then produces 150 MW

Exactly that was done in https://mods.factorio.com/mod/FogRemover, just set icon with satellite on the map and it will be revealed.

Cool ideas! I have added them to the list. The power satellite would be nice for sending power to a remote base.
