If you play Minecraft modded, you will properly know about, NEI (Not Enough Items)
A real handy little mod, which adds a reciepe overview into the inventory.
You can see all items present in the game, and with a click you can see, how to create it/what to creat with it.
At the moment items and reciepes are still overlookable, but just a view mods and the amount of items are massivly increased.
Or the question "do i need wood later on?" could be easy solved through such a thing.
Second is a "upgrade kit", similar to the repair kit. Its just upgrades stuff. One for each upgradable thing, mainly for conveyer belt, (yellow to red, and red to blue) or assambly machines) could need a few more resources but would realy handy.. Just running belts down and upgrading them with a little tool
Uhh and last thing for the lovly cool modders, an ore dictionary (from a MC mod too). Each mod can insert its own metals and materials, declaring inside the dict, name and kind and stuff, so if for exsample two diffrent mods uses tin ores, you can use both kinds.
