I was thinking about connecting belts to circuit network.
Belt scanner is a kind of belt in 3 versions (normal/fast/express) that outputs true (signal) when it detects object passing through it
2nd idea is flow controller that outputs average count of items passing through it. Its also a variant of belt so it should also have 3 different types

The first can easily be achieved with one or more belts set to hold their contents and a decider combinator set to "Any > 0 => (Signal of choice) = 1"

The second is much harder, and needs more definition. Average over what time range? Why that particular time range?
