Since fff #224, bots vs belts discussion, I was thinking about this problem very often. And every time I had this sad conclusion: belts not only affect ups more than bots but they also have another huuuge disadvantage. They need more space than a simple requester+inserter array.
But i have a proposal to show:
Let (after some mid-game research) an asemblers have slots that you could put an inserter into. Those inserters would have a restriction, that they could only move items from entities other than any type of chest. Maybe even add extra capacity bonus to them.
How to make belts comparable with bots.

The restriction seems odd (I'd like a reason other than "because then it would help bots") but I LOVE the idea.

Yeah, You've got the point. However, those restrictions could be ignored. Even without them belts would get bigger boost than bots.5thHorseman wrote:I'd like a reason other than "because then it would help bots
