Pruning unaltered chunks from Custom Scenarios.

Could this be possible somehow? I only ask because my custom scenario, Hole In The Wall - Fight Through A Squall, has a rather large file size enough though only a relatively small part of the map has been altered. Anyone have thoughts on this?

Such "optimized" map would probably break if anything on the map generator gets tweaked.
The terrain generator is not near being "stable" AFAIK, so the feature doesn't make much sense yet.

Once the perfect generator is discovered, then why stop at scenarios.
Why not provide a generic "optimize save" button?

I also suspect, that when one discovers a chunk might change the chance of biters spawning there or something.

PS: Some generator versioning and backwards compatibility would be necessary, so new map features could be added.That involves carrying code for all past "perfect" generators and letting the save specify it's preferred generator version.
