Survival Aspect

My suggestion would be food, this opens up many new options like greenhouses and plantations with irrigation and other methods of watering them as well as medicinal herbs that can be grown to heal yourself as well.

Hmm ...

interesting but my first thought to this is ..

so you have to take food with ou to not die? this means to me on one side (if consumtion is high) I have to go often and early to food production to get new food or on the other side (consumption is low) I dont have to bother much because i only go every (2h or so) to get new food.

The main disadvatge I see in this is, that I MUST go over the entire game regulary to the same Spot so I cant fully automate it. I know about logistic robots and logistic inventar but if I am on tour to build a great outpost I dont have there the infra structure for automated delivery and I will surly hat it to go 3 times back to fetch new food ;).

Have you some more detailed Ideas of how a foodsystem will work?

You will be required to eat every so often depending on the difficulty. You start the game with very few options for food that allows you to just get by while advancing and automating the process by researching different forms of food and farming moving from growing apples and oranges in a greenhouse that uses soil and water to laboratories that produce food that gives you possibly boost like increased speed by 5% or temporary health increase. The food doesn't need to be in one area, it can be placed in your inventory or automated just like a mining drill, conveyor belt, and insertor. The farms would work like mining drills but can be placed anywhere and you must run water into it along with crafting some soil for the most basic of food.
