Than you can make sure they have enough fuel and don’t stop halfway the schedule because they are out of fuel

Fuel conditions have been proposed multiple times.
Simple wait condition is not very effective however even so it would be useful.

Is it vanilla possible to control trains with circuits? I imagine you can watch the chest with fuel, and if it has fuel and the inserter isnt running and the train is in the station i am pretty sure that would do it.

Not 100% sure if we ever got circuit control tho...

You can always do inactivety and make sure that hè has full fuel but it whould be handy if you don’t have to let 5sec pas

You could put multiple stack inserters feeding each engine, you could feed it up to 132 (or 144 for engines not touching the train stop) fuel per inserter cycle, use rocket fuel and you only need 3 of them to completely fill it in one inseter cycle.

Or set a circuit on the fuel inserter to read pulse, and use that to reset a timer. When the timer gets to 25 (about) ticks, the fuel inserter is done, that's less than a half second delay.

If you load fuel whilst you load/unload cargo, the locomotive will typically get a full load well before before you can load/unload a cargo wagon. (Assuming you have fuel waiting of course). For the rare cases where the cargo load/unload is extremely fast, 3 stack inserters loading rocket fuel from chests should finish in one inserter swing. which is still 4 times faster than you can load/unload 40 stacks of anything with 12 stack inserters.

Just build refuel-stations and add this to every train you have and let them wait a few seconds.

Extremely simple and just works
