Automotive Logistics

TL;DR
Cars and Tanks should have their own logistic slots like the player character to stay supplied with ammo / fuel.

What ?
Cars and tanks which return to base could be automatically refueled and resupplied by logistic robots. Just need one new technology which provides a small set of logistic request slots to each vehicle.
Why ?
A boring bit of the game is having to keep worrying about refueling your vehicles. I don't generally carry around a bunch of fuel, so if I forget to refuel, I can easily get stranded miles from anywhere, which sucks as gameplay. It seems like it would fit the theme of "automation" at the core of Factorio if you could set-and-forget your resupply, like you already can for trains.

Whether or not this should apply to trains is debatable! I don't think they need it, but others may disagree.

It would be a nice quality of life thing for cars and tanks (not trains, there's absolutely no point, just run a belt, or if you have bots, a requester chest), but then whenever you put it in your pocket you would also get a big pile of coal or rocket fuel or whatever.

That happens now. I keep my tank in my pocket in the car, in case I run into heavy trouble.

So for me, it's mainly the car I worry about.

I agree it's a solved problem for trains. But if it's easier for them to add it to all vehicles, that wouldn't be a problem.

No wood on your maps?
Not the best fuel type but it works.

I've known this is possible, but I haven't tried it yet. Bet it's fun.

Same with me, I just know it exists. Cars are hard enough to control without rocket fuel, so with rocket fuel...

It must be fun :).
