I had this idea today as an easy way to create chests that hold items. You would still have the option to limit the chest capacity.

I suppose you can do this with circuits but it is much more complicated.

Doing this with circuits needs a single wire per inserter. By Factorio standards, it's not complicated, it's absolutely primitive.

Yes, all you have to do is connect the inserter to the chest with a red or green wire and then set the inserter to be only enabled under a certain condition, for example copper > 200.
