Liquid Fuel Boilers and Molten Metals

Post by MalContentFL »

Sometimes fuel is hard to get to Boilers, so how about Liquid Fuel Boilers would use processed fuels to heat water by piping it into the sides.

Make a Geothermal well that pumps up lava from the depths of the core. Pipe cool water and lava into a Magmatic Crucible to derive metal ore from molten magma. This could be a cool way to get new, rare ores like gold for instance. And it heats the water, making it usable in steam engines, which in turn make power for the Magmatic Crucible(s).

Magmatic Crucible (3x3)

X=Inputs (Water Top, Lava Bottom)
O=Output (Hot Water)
+=Body of Machine

Maybe it could be used to melt down excess metal parts, like so many threads suggest (Recycler, Incinerator, etc.).

Technically geothermal power production pumps water underground to get back steam, pumping lava up to heat water doesn't make much sense :)
For generating useful stuff out of lava it would be nice to be able to use lava somehow. Also not just for rare stuff but plain-old stones would be nice. Those are often the first things I run out of.

Liquid fueled boilers are hopefully planned. The current method of magically packing liquids to solid fuels is a bit too magicky to me :)
