toolbar palceholders auto sort

so does anyone know of a mod or an indev idea where if you place an item on your toolbelt and it has a placeholder that it will automatically place it in that slot rather than the one you clicked?

or even a mod that just auto-sorts your inventory regularly

The main inventory is already auto-sorted by default.

What you describe with the quickbar is what you get if you use the hotkeys instead of manually clicking. Manually clicking is telling the game "I want to put it here. I don't care what else is set in the quickbar - put it here."
