Blueprint: Deconstruct mismatched entities

Post by BenSeidel »

Could we add an option, maybe globally in the menu or in the blueprint or wherever, so that when you place a blueprint, any entity that does not match the placed blueprint is marked for deconstruction?

Why?
There are many times that I find myself just deconstructing everything just to change one thing about my design because it's easier than making the changes myself.

Also, it allows for upgrade blueprints, so that you can upgrade the input inserter to a stack inserter but leave the output inserters as yellows, or changing the two input inserters into a single stack inserter and a light (all good things deserve a light). Or upgrade a station from inserter only into bot and inserter (storage chests) or vice-versa. The big one that I can think of is the upgrade from steel furnaces to electric furnaces. Without the "upgraded" blueprint you have to deconstruct everything.

Also, the mods upgrade planner and deconstruction filter don't work in every scenario because you may have the same entity doing different tasks, so you only want to upgrade a subset of them.
