When using the deconstruction planer it blankets an area. But often there is something in the way you want to keep. Like the roboport needed for the bots to come at all, some power line or train going through. Now you have to mark the area for deconstruction part by part.
My suggestion is to make the deconstruction planner more like the blueprint. After selecting an area a new window pops up with the plan, showing the selected area. Now individual items can be removed from the plan by deleting them on the plan. At the bottom the kind and count of items to be deconstructed should be shown, just like in the blueprint. But deleting an item from that list should delete all of that item from the plan. This would allow e.g. preserving all rail roads with a single click.
