Plastic Explosives

Plastics already are in the game so it shouldn't be too out there to have them. Plastics, explosives, and such can be assembled to create C3, C4, or C5. That is, if C5 is a thing. It is planted with a pre-set timer to eventually blow up and level everything near. Can be attached to walls, ground,vehicles, trains, bots, capsules, and aliens. I hoped to see something like this as a way to more easily destroy alien hives but still have some danger and risk in it, these will completely destroy hives but will not break the game by making it too easy. Plastics and explosives were already in game so it made sense.
TL;DR: Bombs to plant at alien hives to decimate them without making it too easy

There was actually something similar to this suggested to me a few days ago.

One of the things in my mod is nitroglycerine, as a fluid, and the question was should it be able to be barrelled to be more easily moved around. The suggestion was that a barrel able to be placed in the world as an entity, that explodes if damaged.

I like the timer idea better though (though not as easy to mod in).

A remote detonator would be a lot easier to script
