Mixed-Ammo Turret

A turret that is a combination of the Gun Turret and the Laser Turret. It uses lasers when electricity is available, and uses bullet magazines or shotgun shells when there's no power.

In both cases, the damage output is lower to account for the duality of the turret.

It could be used as a backup defense system if you run out of power in the middle of a biter attack, using ammo instead of electricity.

Based on a comment in /r/factorio

There's nothing stopping you from using both types of towers.

It would be more useful for modders - implementing railgun like turret that uses ammo and energy is not possible currently.
It would need turret that is capable of both ammo and energy usage.

Orzelek: Yes, useful.

bigyihsuan: I don't see the game-value that explains the afford to have a new type of tower in the vanilla, that is just a mixture of existing ones. I see also a problem for the game if you introduce weapons, that are capable of "everything". Where is the good old stone, scissors, paper?

Broken under the heel of the shotgun, I imagine.

But in all seriousness, this is a request for API support. It won't even actually effect the base game unless the developers also add a railgun turret. It will give modders more options.
