When i have interface option set to show tooltips next to cursor, there is no tooltip shown at all when placing a new drill.

I can agree that it serves no purpose seeing the building entity tooltip for everything like assemblers and chem plants, i really do need the information on the miner. But if it's really this small tooltip for resources only then it will not obstruct.
What i'm looking to see is only this, no need for full miner tooltip:
This is a thread continuation from bug report, where it was said to be intentionally hidden:Tooltip for knowing which ores new drill will hit

Or, the tooltip could be automatically moved to the right side instead of hidden.

I agree, it would be very useful to see this before placing the mining drill.

It could be drawn similar to how the copy tool, cut tool, upgrade planner, and similar tools display the number and types of selected entities? So rather than a proper tooltip, it’s just a set of icons with numbers displayed below the cursor or entity.

Sure, that sounds good. I think what most of us care about isn't how much ore, but what types, so we know whether we need a filter splitter, for instance.StrangePan wrote: Thu Nov 14, 2024 10:18 am It could be drawn similar to how the copy tool, cut tool, upgrade planner, and similar tools display the number and types of selected entities?
