I was talking with my friends and we were discussing about the thing that every time we launched a rocked, all that rockets were going to end either on the atmosphere as space debris, or would fall into the planet.
And i though.. what about if there were a new variable per planet called "space debris" that would increase each time a rocket was sent? Then, depending on the contamination, rocket parts could appear near the stations or the ships that were orbiting the planet.
This would allow to integrate a system to recycle, maybe by destroying the ship parts and then gathering ressources with the asteroid collectors. They could return blue chips and steel, and every time you cleared that space debris that "space pollution" could get reduced.
If not for the game, I think this would be a very good addition as a mod.

Re: Space debris
Destroyed space platform parts could be added in as well.
Or the occasional scrap, ancient satellites around Fugora.
Though I understand if they would want to keep the "space biome" resources fixed and not complicate it further.

Re: Space debris
This is an interesting idea. Since asteroids are already different in the orbits of different planets, it's already possible to make a mod implementing either the ruined satellites idea or a crude version of the original space debris idea.
