Easier deselection in Blueprint mode!!!

Post by Dutchtaylor »

Hi Everyone!

I am struggeling with deselecting tiles in blueprint mode.
I don't want to remove all the tiles and therefore i have to deselect them with my right mouse button.
I wish there was a way to create an area by holding right mouse button so i deselect areas i dont want in the blueprint.
So i can remove items in the blueprint faster.
Now i am spending 10 min per blueprint in my city blocks blueprints because i made a small mistake.

Surely this can be added to the blueprint mode! :D :D

It's also possible to remove tiles or items by right-clicking in the Components...but that only works if you want to remove all of them, or none.

Yeah exactly. I just want to mark an area and not all and not one by one.

The small mistake is on a "big" blueprint though, at this point maybe it's faster to paste the blueprint somewhere on a editor map (instant blueprint) , then remove with decon planner the parts you want to get rid of, and then re-select the blueprint, so that you don't have to deselect from inside the blueprint menu, there is this icon top left that allow to "reselect" the content of a blueprint, so you could keep the settings and names, i think it's the blue one with a + inside, it's not something i do often and even less with some grid snapping so i may be overlooking things, maybe it require visual markings to reselect easily the exact same size but could still save some tedious if you have many of such blueprint to redo ?

Well that doasn't work for plots unfortunately.
I need a width and Height of 100.

If i create the blueprint on an empty landscape and put the scale to 100/100 then its a bit off for some reason.
But if i do it on a already made plot with tiles then it fits perfectly with 100/100.

I think the blueprint needs tiles or items in the corners of the blueprint to determine the exact size.
Which doasn't make sense to me.

Because why isn't 100/100 just 100/100.. or am i doing something wrong here.

You should be able to use the grid size to set it to 100x100, then use the grid position as an offset to center it where needed. Alternatively, you can do as mmmPi said but leave 1 tile at each of the 4 corners, then once you've reselected your blueprint, just remove those 4 tiles.

Edit: And looking at your images, I think you don't have the offset (grid position) set right. Note from your earlier screenshots how there's a gap between your outermost tiles and the green dashed line, but in that latest screenshot there isn't (at the top). I think you need to adjust the offset by another 2 tiles.
