"Manage" tab suggestions

Post by Galdoc »

I love the coming changes for the Mod window in 2.0. :) With that said, I've a few suggestions for the Manage tab:

1) Click-drag (de)activates groups of mods. As in, click on one to (un)check it, and drag across other checkboxes to similarily toggle them. This is how layers can be toggled in Photoshop, as an example. This makes it easy to turn on/off groups of mods, like the Bob's suite.
2) Add "Name, Title, Description, and Author" ex/inclusion toggles when performing a search. This will make it super easy to search by author if you want (in the case of Brevven, whose mod titles have no common searchable string). To wit, here's a mockup: Image
3) Mod 'folders' that hold collections of mods for easy finding. For example, mods that you'd only use in a Bob's Mods palythrough that don't have "bob" in the title might be conveniently grouped this way.
4) Mod "Loadouts" -- basically, a list of things that when toggled will just toggle on/off all mods in a particular, user-set configuration. This decouples mod loadouts from savegames, and can be useful when either making personalized modpacks for personal or server use.
5) Better Dependency view. Basically, there's many circumstances when, in the mod list, the title of a mod will turn red, and things are happening quietly behind the scenes that might cause a problem. Having some way of highlighting and managing conflics would be great, either through a separte tick box or a tab or whatever.
