Sometimes I find the ground texture a bit messy and it's hard to see stuff. Would be nice if the player could pave over the ground with something uniform, that offers high visual contrast vs objects and scattered inventory items that the player forgot to pick up.
Game wise, building the pavement would just be a replacement of the ground texture with something that looks like concrete or metal
Suggested properties:
1.Strong visual contrast so it's easy to see stuff;
2.Brighter than background if lit up by light at night;
3.Manufactured by assembler from stones;
4.Can pave under already placed player buildings, so the player won't have to remove a factory to fill a hole in the pavement;
5.Cannot pave under trees, over minerals, or under biter buildings, because it's illogical to do so;
Optional:
A.Player walks slightly faster while on it;
B.Causes biters to avoid the area like with other play buildings;
C.Multiple versions:
---i Standard version made from stone(Concrete Pavement),
---ii Electricity Conducting version made from metal for when you got no room for a power pole(Power Conduit),
---iii Tarmac version made from stone and heavy oil that makes cars and tanks move a lot faster
Something like pavement from Dune series:
