Please put the recycle results in the Factoriopedia and add them to the item page.
Some of the recipes are obvious or clearly explained there but there are a decent handful that recycle into themselves with no in-game reason I can find (or recycle properly unexpectedly). The weirdest one I was blindsided by was the recycle landfill result after I setup a stone quality recycle loop. (Seriously, it's a single item input assembler recipe, why doesn't it break back down to stone?), though batteries recycling properly on fulgora was also a surprise.
A field in each item in each Factoriopedia would make planning anything involving a recycler way nicer. Extra credit if you add a definitive list of recipes that recycle into themselves and/or fall outside of the stated rules.

Yes, please. Some are very unintuitive.

Thirding this. Came to write the same but found this with a search.

+1 on this.
While I've found the recipe generation code now, it has been frustrating to figure this out for every single item.
I am not good enough with lua or the modding API to be sure, but it seems that there's also a possibility for mods to add different recipes and outcomes to recycling recipes? Having that as a hidden recipe that's not listed anywhere would be less than ideal if they decide to make use of the mechanic in that way. (*cough* pyanodons *cough*)

It's not obvious at all that items like superconductors recycle into themseves
