Ability to "Read Fuel" from Biochambers.

Ability to "Read Fuel" from Biochambers.
I was trying to use 'Read Contents' on a bio chamber to read it's fuel value so I could have some emergency nutrients production kicked on if they were empty.
When I asked about it, the suggestion from boskid was that if it be implemented, it be implemented as a separate 'read fuel' checkbox.
Thanks!

The best way for now, as far as I can tell, is to hook it up to whatever you have making nutrient.
Instead of trying to read the machines themselves, see if your nutrient producer has nutrient to deliver.

I'm on Gleba right now and it really sucks not being able to optimize my nutrient usage using this.

Agreed. This may apply to other fuel-based assemblers.
Since nutrients spoil, I didn't want to over-fuel machines. However, the biochamber doesn't report the fuel in the "read contents".
You can workaround this with a combinator, "if ingredient1 >= required1 and ingredient2 >= required2 and working = 0 and product0 < product0_max", connected to an inserter. But, I'd rather just have the inserter say, "if fuel = 0", or a requester enabled on "if fuel = 0" in the machine.

+1, when attempting to make quality biochamber in a biochamber, you need nutrient of quality as ingredient, and you may not want to insert it before some other low quality nutrient is put as fuel, otherwise the quality nutrient risk being used as fuel. Being able to read the current fuel in a biochamber would allow feeding the ingredient for the recipe only when the fuel is present already, to make sure the quality nutrient is transformed and not used as fuel.

It might be better to separate fuel out as it's own checkbox/signal, similar to the "Read Working" checkbox/signal section (e.g., "Read Fuel" checkbox and signal choice).

+1 to the suggestion, really neeed it.
Need this option to allow to turn on emergency supply request chest in case of nutrients-making chamber runs out of nutrients (if it spoils for example). To deliver nutrients from nutrients-making electrical assemblers.
Now I made it that way I can restart everything remotely, but still prefer manually . (Have in mind some automatic solutions but don't like it)
Doesn't work if I want to control fuel of chamber that makes fuel (for itself too)

Re: Ability to "Read Fuel" from Biochambers.
Another problem when I need this option. My egg-multiplying chamber just stopped because her fuel nutrients spoiled while having 32 nutrients in ingrident slot and can't insert new ones because I disable inserters by logic if there are enough nutrients. (Chamber itself works only every 15 minutes so i can't keep nutrients inside) I thought it's enough since inserters feel fuel slot first and then ingridient slot. Of course chamber will restart as soon as 30 nutrients in ingridient slot spoil, but...

+1 I really don’t want a sub-bus for nutrients starving the rest of my biochambers when the ones being supplied are already full. Usually it wouldn’t be a problem but with spoilage and all I want to optimize
Re: Ability to "Read Fuel" from Biochambers.
+1 -- makes it really annoying to figure out when to kickstart the nutrient making process from spoilage
Re: Ability to "Read Fuel" from Biochambers.
+1
I was looking forwards to trying to minimize spoilage as much as possible, but without being able to restrict the biochamber food you have to overproduce nutrients to keep all of your biochambers fed.
