tl;dr
i was wondering why i cant fastreplace refineries/chemplants/boiler with themself, but i can rotate them - bugged me twice this week so here is a suggestion to change that to be more consistend
i cant think of a reason why i should be able to rotate but not to fastreplace

Why will you fast replace them? And I don't understand the combination with rotating (cannot fast replace, but can rotate).
Fast replace is for upgrading entities of the same types. Like slow belts with fast belts or slow inserter with fast inserter. They have the same dimensions.
chemplants, refineries and boilers have completly different dimensions.

Do you mean being able to, say, build a refinery on top of a refinery to rotate it, such that it matches your cursor's rotation, similar to how belts work now?
I doubt he meant let you fast replace those building types with each other, it is a suggesion for each of those individually.

Hm, with assemblers it works, that you can rotate them when placed. I don’t know, but when it works with assembly why not with chem plant? I need to try that out.
