TL;DR
Logistic chest filters should be visible in alt-mode and blueprints, the same way filter inserters show their filter. What?
Add a configuration option to show logistics filters instead of chest contents and always show filters in blueprints.I would like to be able to have better visibility into the filter in logistic chests. Currently the only way to check filters is to hover over them and look at the contextual menu on the right. There is no way to see the filter in a blueprint.
Combinators and filter inserters are visible in several modes:
Placed in the world
In paste mode
In a blueprint
Why?
The visuals are valuable and feels missing in alt-mode.The behavior is inconsistent between the filter inserter and logistics chests.
Opposing views?
This would introduce inconsistency with with chests.Example
I was using storage chests to hold many items while refactoring some spaghetti. I put down a whole bunch of storage chests so that items on belts could be stored and then moved to another chest for re-insertion on to another belt. I really liked the idea of having a storage grid and naturally wanted to lay out items in a more astethic manner. This proved to be a little bit difficult due to the fact that I could not see what the filter was set to without hovering or opening.large grid
