Exact logistic requests

Post by SupplyDepoo »

TL;DR
Make it easier to set exact logistic requests. (100 <= electric mining drill<= 100)

What ?
Possible ways to do it (pick one):
  • Hold a modifier key like Shift to prevent the slider from moving the other slider.
  • Double-click the slider to move the other slider to the same position.
  • Type an equals=sign into the text box to copy the number from the other text box.
  • Use MMB (middle mouse button) click to set both sliders to the clicked position.

Why ?
It's just a minor usability improvement for situations where you want an exact amount of items.

Setting exactly 0 is easy because you can just drag the right slider all the way to the left. But setting exactly some other amount requires more effort because you can easily drag the other slider too far by mistake. This feature will make it just as easier.

This feature does not have to be discoverable. It can be for experienced players. It could also be added to the "tips and tricks" list.

Examples:
  • 100 electric mining drills for setting up new outposts (50 is often not enough, but 100 often is)
  • 200 grenades for clearing trees
  • 1k rails
I specifically chose these examples because they're not exactly the stack size of the item, so a simple "set to stack size" feature wouldn't work here. However, this feature would naturally make it easy to set an exact stack size since the minimum amount is always default set to the stack size, so you could just double-click/middle-click the left slider, or shift-drag the right slider, or type a "=" symbol in the right edit box.
