What
- Add a label to each quickbar button that displays the keybinding assigned (e.g., ALT+S).
- Add an interface option to toggle the display of quickbar button labels.
Why ?
- Finding the best keyboard layout can take time and experimentation.
- Having a visual indication is very useful when testing different configurations.
- When coming back to the game after a break, having the visual would be useful for remembering which keys have been set.
Notes
This may seem an odd request to some, if quickbars are considered to be sequential (qwerty, asdfg, zxcvb). I would argue that this isn't always the most efficient configuration, when modifiers such as SHIFT, CTRL, and ALT are available, and can be combined (Ctrl + Alt + Z). I often assign various combinations of SHIFT and/or ALT combinations to 1-5, Q-R, A-F, Z-V - and they aren't always sequential. When working to find a configuration that is convenient and useful, I will try changing things around and playing with that for a while - but then sometimes I can't remember what I put where, if it isn't one I constantly use. Being able to see the binding would be incredibly helpful.From a personal perspective, one of the driving factors for me is finding useful keybindings that don't rely on the CTRL key, as this bugger is largely responsible for the pain in my hands from years of keyboard use.
