Console: font not Unicode, can't select/copy console

I ran into a problem with people from Russia joining our English server. When they type in Russian Cyrillic, it displays as blank spaces to me. All I can see are punctuation marks.

Please use a universal Unicode console font that has symbol support from every possible language, whether Arabic, Telugu, whatever.

Also apparently I am unable to highlight and copy text directly from the console, so I cannot select what others have written to paste it into Google Translate.
