I'll assume you'd want the cattle grid to:
- stop the movement of bugs
- allow player movement
- be destroyable by bugs, so they have a fair chance to still attack you

Some property suggestions:
- Biters do way less damage than spitters to this object.
- Holding them down by letting them get stuck/unpredictable release back by low chance(It would be an valuable delay in problem zones for underemployed factory's).
- Players may only walk across it, no slowdown for vehicles while in functional state.
- Grid 1*5 ((1*2)*2 clearance) Budget low tier wooden branches version(for the starters / can't hold tanks / breaks in the breath of a behemoth)
- Grid 2*6((2*2)*2 clearance) High cost concrete/steel/metal
- When destroyed; can be replaced after de-spawned leftovers
