The Idea is to have a bigger storage for bulk goods like ore or stone. If there would be a storage with the size of a factory (9x9) you could place bulk goods there and could unload the storage with max. 12 inserters. This would speed up the unload process a lot. The advantage would be, that you do not need a lot of crates filled with bulk goods.
Optional:
It would be great, if the bulk storage could be filled via belts, so that you can put a belt to the storage and the belt feeds directly into the storage. Without the need of an inserter.
Both measures work together to create a much better mining site. For minig bulk and storing it without the need of inserters.
