Sorry for this problem. Parts of the updating code was broken in 0.12.9 and 0.12.10, which means that people with these versions (on osx, and to a smaller extent on windows) won't be able to update automatically. So please just download the whole package from website. I've removed the update from the server, so that it won't fail for other people; instead it will just quietly not update (and if such problem appears again in a future version, there will be a message).
