Shoutbox?

im not sure if this has been suggested but can we have a shoutbox for all the things gong on? ... perhaps not in the main forum but in the subforums so its not full of everything? i mean it doesn't have to show each comment on each post but every new post would make it easier for the community and the admins to reply and help people with the posts?
im very new to this kinda stuff so u think this should go here?

With hundreds of users simultaneously connected on the forum, I think it wouldn't be the best idea to add shoutboxes.
