Spam?

Post by Zeblote »

What's up with the bots posting nonsense all over the forum? It seems like they just started again this week... :(

The forum software is 8 years old, all the standard anti-bot features have been cracked.

I hear the devs are looking into non-standard anti-bot features, like tying forum access to your paid factorio.com account.

That would prevent potential new players from asking questions, though.

The Factorio account doesn't need to be paid, you create a free account on factorio.com.
Only after you bought it and entered the code it's a "paid" account.

Well then it will only work until someone creates a new bot that makes an account there too.

A bot only to post in one forum? Come on... nobody makes such work. Spmmers live from doing mass-spam on masses of forums. They don't care one single forum.
Cool suggestion: Eatable MOUSE-pointers.
