I'd like this to show more than a few hours (maybe posts from the last 24 hours?) but I can't seem to make anything similar in the advanced search.
How does "View new posts" work?

Re: How does "View new posts" work?
It works in the way, that it lists all the new posts since you logged in last time.
But they will be marked as new posts until you read them or you mark all forums as read.

ahh ... no. I did not realise 'new' to 'unread'
I use 'view unread posts'. There are all Post wich I have have not read since last Login (back to infinitve time). Maybe this fits you.

Hmm... in that case, could you make a new search that just lists everything from the last 24 hours? It doesn't accept * as search term and nothing doesn't bring up any results
View unread posts brings up over 1000 results but topics disappear after I clicked them once which isn't too nice

Re: How does "View new posts" work?
- Use the "mark all posts as read" at right top. I use that, when I'm finished.
- Use "bookmark topic" at bottom left to mark interesting topics for you
- or "subscribe topic" to mark interesting topics for you and get informed, when things change
- and manage the subcriptions/bookmarks in user control panel
There is no search about date only. The Advanced Search can search something by date, if you know a keyword.

Cool suggestion: Eatable MOUSE-pointers.
