for the record, there is a lot less to complain about in these epsoides, so either i'm getting used to your "stupidity" or you're learning

the shore line is a bit silly, there is a debug option to turn off the fancy transition (F4 by default to change the settings, careful, it gets addictive to keep adding options to the always setting)

that should be decent, should be balanced, corners only slow down one side, and only if you care about 100% compression

i wonder when he'll realise that steel smelts from iron, and not iron ore... (oh, he did)

have you seen the splitter monstrosity that is root's factories? that's tame by comparison...

you can't really double it unless you use underground belts to put electric poles where you have coal, and upgrading to electric only allows you to reduce pollution, and regardless the drills and boilers are your largest source of pollution

cause you put them there when you built the furnaces...

targets for automation in order, gears, red science, circuts (at full belts, 3 cable to 2 circuits), belts, inserters, green etc

you can replace pipe with boilers, and gates with walls etc.

for a coal buffer, you want the ability for it to pass through, but if you run out of electricity your current build will die because you have electricity powered coal mining

It was ment to be Tuesday but every one who had been commenting you here Dr mac on the YouTube and the people who prefer to steam message me had all got back to me and i had forgot i need to steam my Xcom Long War tonight so i could do with the space freed up for the local recording of that 3TB only goes so far with direct capture

far far along that list do you think i should get in one more EP ?

The water line is fishy, there is a pair of squares, one land and the other water, that "blend" together,
in general, you can walk+build on one square farther than the graphics would make you believe

tbh, once you get the smelting set up (iron and copper specifically)

you set up a basic iron -> gear line (3 assemblers should survive for most of the game, 4 is almost overkill in <1RDH factories)
then get some circuit factories (remember 3 cable -> 2 circuit is basic, and cable -1 == circuit is general)
then pipe gears and copper to make red
and gears and iron to make belt
circuit + gear + iron to make inserters
belt + inserter == green

lab inserters belt belt inserters lab
(lab is 3x3, short inserter, long inserter, small pole)

[purple, blue][red, green] or some variant, and you are set until you get oil set up

heh, how many labs you thinking, i can tell you EXACTLY how many assemblies you need (with my magic spreadsheet i'm trying to finish)

10 but as you will see in the next EP (just recoded should be out at 06:00gmt+0 tomorrow morning) i plan to centrelines production of particular items. so insed of having say 1 factory making iron gears specificity for red sciences i will have an area that makes it for every thing that will need them

the plan is to do so yes, although i will admit at 1st i thought wire was made like gears but just copper (2 for 1) but it the opposite (1 for 2) so this will probably not work all that well

however until it fails i will give it a try

also in my head there is also a XL vertion of the system i am trying to implement now so it may mean i just have to go to that

more buffers means a more constant production, atm the raw is coming from local mines but the plan is to trains from a long way away (RSO mod should mean any good mine will be a long way off) so my geuss is the raw input will be more bursty this should even it out
also all the chests can later be replaced with provider chests and if there is lots of places for robots to pick things up there trips should be shorter and this could mean less robots can do more ??? never used them so 1000% speculation

The max zoom out is massive, you should be able to see the wall and turrets, hover over them, and look if any are in danger of needing replacement/refilling

The biggest reason why this is a thing, is you're ore and plates are buffered, so any disturbances in ore delivery, and buffered out before it hits your line

nope, build it quick and find out, it favors one side of the belt for each side, but it pulls evenly, and outputs evenly, the only downside is it turns the belt by 90 degrees, which is what you want

because you where running, and every so often the range would be too great because it's integer positions, but would be in-range when there wasn't a rounding

Ok i had chances to watch a good bit of the LPs that was suggested and my conclusion is, i can make this work it just needs to be bigger.

so episode 4 is mainly reworking the belt system from episode 3,
as i did not want to make no progress this time

i will admit, i was busy during this episode, my dorm friends had wandered in and wanted to see what i was yelling at my screen for, and we got into a discussion on how inventory is the bane of a normal-world industrial factory, as the benefit (production is insulated from supply fluctuations) is far out weighed by the costs (cost to maintain and store, hides inefficiencies in supply, depreciating value, it's unusable value, etc.) usually they want to just add more production/ supply if either is higher then the other
