Server

Post by MrJek »

Good evening.
how can I run the client without graphical shell (as a server) console mode

I have a server with a static IP address, but it is a weak graphics card and the game does not start, complaining of the lack of graphics (approximately).

you plan to release a program server?

P. S. thank you in advance for your reply

that's what gives the client on the server machine (the weak graphics card)

Currently it is not possible. I seem to remember seeing one of the developers saying it won't be possible in the near future, if ever, but I can't find the post, so maybe I'm imagining it :)

Search for dedicated server / headless server to see previous discussions about this.

I actually remember "--headless" / "--no-gui" being considered,
since it would make a useful debugging tool (and allow for dedicated map-servers)

It IS possible. It's just not what they're working on right now.

Eventually I fully expect there will be a dedicated server. But for now, you'll just have to make do

I think thats what you looking for. It works, i have tried this. Its just quite a bit of knowledge in Linux. After a reboot of the "server" i find it a pain to start the game up with what needs to be done.

Maybe someone else can streamline it?
