IPv6

Post by Kucki »

Hi Guys,
i tried to connect to one of the public servers listed here, but it didn't work. I get the connection screen for a second and then I only have the factorio background and nothing happens.

I think it has to do with the port forwarding. I'm currently bound to IPv6 with DS-Lite at UnityMedia in germany. Is there a solution to get multiplayer working with IPv6?

Edit: Nobody knows? Maybe with Tools like Tunngle or something?

Multiplayer behind a DS-Lite connection is work. If you are hosting you just have to make sure everybody joining has ipv6 connectivity. Joining non public ipv4 only dedicated servers is also working as is joining game of somebody with ipv4 only connectifity and opened ports.
Not sure if joining public servers is working but as long as you have some friends to play with there should allways be a way to do it. E.g. i had to use openvpn before factorio had a dedicated server or ipv6 support.(it was kind of hard when both players were behind ds-lite connections back than...)
