Chainability

I'm still fairly new to the game, but am a huge fan of game wikis.

So I learned that there are some systems, such as labs, that can be chained together with inserters. The second lab in the chain will take what it needs from the first lab.

While this can obviously be overused, I still think it's something that should be mentioned on the wiki pages for items that can be chained, and perhaps the lack even for those that can't.

I also was thinking there are several ways to do this. It could be mentioned in the top text, it could be a separate section with its own text, it could be on the info box. And perhaps with a link to an article on chaining that explains particulars and limitations.

The boiler page already mentions it in the top text, so it fits in the top text on the lab page as well. For the chaining mechanics, that could go on the inserters page, though I can't think of any difference in mechanics compared to the inserter behaviour already described on the page.

Mentioning the lack of chaining for buildings like locomotives likely is a bad idea. Documenting negatives tends to be confusing because all that sticks out in reader's minds/when skimming the page is the feature, not the negated part.

Sounds like a good plan to me. I added the text to the Lab page, except I linked to the more generic "Inserters" page rather than to the "Inserter" page.

And I agree with your point about negative text.

You were correct - I had done a preview, but hadn't actually saved the changes.
