Hello everyone!
I've started the pt-br translation and I got a question.
I noticed that the other languages, like fr and de, have the page title in its language. For instance, the iron ore pages:
https://wiki.factorio.com/index.php?title=Iron_ore/fr
https://wiki.factorio.com/index.php?title=Iron_ore/de
How can I translate the title bar? I couldnt find any template for the item names. Sure I can have searched poorly though
The pt-br page:
https://wiki.factorio.com/index.php?tit ... _ore/pt-br
Translated pages title

Re: Translated pages title
The right way would be to have an own wiki for each language. The not so right is to add a second headline, so that the page can be found better.
Cool suggestion: Eatable MOUSE-pointers.

Re: Translated pages title
Wouldn't it be worse start a whole new wiki? Would it get the status of official factorio wiki page?
I mean. I am willing to help the brazilian community and I thought that start a pt-br translated version was enough. And the possibility to go back and forth from english to the translated version is essential, mostly because not all pages are translated and/or up to date.
I understand the issue caused by the rule of naming the pages with "english name/language" but the german and french pages are going fine till now. I just cant figure it out how they changed the title.
I'll add a headline for now, as you said. And I accept any further advice you guys wanna to give.

I don't know.MouraoBH wrote:Wouldn't it be worse start a whole new wiki? Would it get the status of official factorio wiki page?
But I believe, that we (the community) have bigger problems with maintaining the wiki just in English language.
And I think the translation adds another level of complexity into the wiki project. From the sight of producing (useful) results I would say it's a bit of fail. But from the learning effect it is really interesting.

Re: Translated pages title
To answer the initial question, to have a translation of the Title you have to update the page: Template:Translation/pt-br
Have a look at the page Template:Translation/fr for examples.
The labels in the top left boxes are translated in the same page.

How can I translate this?
https://wiki.factorio.com/Armor_modules/ru
"Однажды создав любую модульную броню..."
==================
Equipment modules can be added to modular armor/ru, power armor/ru and power armor MK2/ru and give the player various bonuses. Bonuses stack and can be combined with each other to suit the wearer's personal preferences. Modules take up a certain amount of space in armor and some consume energy.
Equipment modules can be used by placing them in the grid that opens by right clicking the armor.
All modules have their own technology that must be researched before they can be crafted. The following modules are available:

Ah, you are here on the forums then. I also left you a message on the wiki. I'm assuming you want to translate the disambiguation template. You can translate it using https://wiki.factorio.com/Template:Translation/ru , just add there and replace the german translations with your russian ones. The links next to the icons are also translated using that template.
Code: Select all
| Multiple pages share the title or description of = Mehrere Seiten teilen den Titel oder die Beschreibung von
| They are listed below. = Sie sind unten aufgelistet.
| If unable to find the desired page, you may want to '''[[Special:Search|perform a new search]].''' = Wenn es nicht möglich ist die gewünschte Seite zu finden, sollten Sie '''[[Special:Search|eine neue Suche durchführen]].'''
| If an = Falls ein
| internal link = interner Link
| led you here, you may wish to change the link to point directly to the intended article. = sie hierhergeführt hat, könnte es sein, dass sie den Link verändern wollen, damit er direkt den gewünschten Artikel verlinkt.
