FFF - When are the discussed changes released?

Post by Locane »

I really enjoy the deep-dive in to the development process for Factorio through Factorio Friday Facts. A lot of the things I'm excited by, but it's not clear to me when the changes that are discussed are actually put in-game.

When are things like the new particle system and faster load times released, when the FFF is released? I have Steam set to subscribe to the latest Beta; as of this writing 0.17.79. I am concerned about those two things specifically, but I'd like to know more generally - is there a version number that the changes being discussed are associated with?

I couldn't find this googling around.

The version will be 0.18.0, and you should get it if you selected the "latest experimental" beta.

The release date is "2020". There will likely be FFFs hinting at a more precise date when it gets closer.

Damn. That's what I was afraid of. I wish that was more clear in each post.

1.0 is set for September 25, so the beta should be at least a couple months before that. Nothing more specific than that, though.
